GERALD SEKOTO

In South Africa, we mostly have art-crafts of high quality. Very senstive in feeling for texture, form and colour, these include bead-work, weaving and various utility objects. We also have the Mapogo house- and wall-decorations of great beauty. But the treasure owned by the State is what is generally called Bushman paintings and engravings. However, no-one continues this art today since the people who are supposed to have done it have now died out.
