Introduction
- Mission
- The purpose of this site is to provide an archive of information on Ricardo Flores Magon, anarchist and Mexican revolutionary writer and activist. The archive contains (or provides links to) historical and biographical material, bibliographies, collected works, images, and commentary.
- Background
- The author, Reggie Rodriguez, created this site in April 1997 to fulfill a requirement for a political science course. That course, entitled Anarchy and the Internet, is taught by Dana Ward at Pitzer College. Professor Ward adminstrates this site as part of his Anarchy Archives website. [Specifically, "Ricardo Flores Magon" is a Bright Light in the Anarchy Archives.] Other contributors include past and present students of Anarchy and the Internet. We welcome comments and suggestions from those who wish to particpate in the continuing growth of this site.
What began as a class assignment became, to my knowledge, the very first site on the Internet devoted to Ricardo Flores Magon. In time we hope it develops into the comprehensive Magon website.
What's New
- More Articles and Letters
- (coming soon) We will be posting some new prison letters and Regeneracion articles this month. In the future, we will make Spanish versions of articles and letters available
- Site Overhaul
- (22 Feb 98)The original site defaulted to frames and catered to Netscape users. It also had a page design that was both dull and difficult to print. This month, I have introduced an entirely new design that solves these former problems. Because the whole site is written in HTML 3.2, it conforms to W3C standards and should therefore be viewable by any broswer. Also, the new single page format should be more user friendly than its Javascript and frames predecessor. And hopefully the new "style" is better looking!
