Wheras in certain articles appearing in the Native Newspaper known as Udibi Lwase Afrika certain aspersions have been cast upon the Reverend John L. Dube of Ohlange, I, the undersigned, Editor in Chief of the said Newspaper, do hereby apologise fot the same and do declare upon my homour that I know nothing whatever against the personal honour and integrity of the aforesaid Reverend John L. Dube. I do further declare that whereas Leaders of Native thought must of necessity vary in their views on public subjects from time to time,and although the views of the Reverend John L. Dube and myself have sometimes differed, I believe him to be actuated by nothing except the highest motives.
