PROJECT:
This is an optional, graded project. The grade will boost your final class grade in porportion to how you do on it. It should be worked on individually. The due date is either Wednesday, May 7th, or Thursday, May 8th. (Depends on if you are in the MW section or the TTh section.)

Homework:
There will be several different types of homework assignments for this class:

Readings: You will be assigned readings from the text, supplementary course notes, and academic papers. It is essential that you do these readings by their due date, so that we may have informed class discussions.

Problem Sets: When problems are assigned you will have approximately one week to complete them. Problems will appear in the course notes. Due dates will be announced in class.

Papers: You may be assigned one or more short papers to write.

Classwork: Class time will be spent with a mixture of lecture, discussion, video presentations, and game playing.

Attendance: Attendance is a basic requirement of the class! For each pair of unexcused absences your grade will drop by one letter.

Pass/Fail: Students who opt to take this class C/NC are reminded that they need a minimum grade of C to pass.

Exams: In addition to the final there will be one mid-term examination, tentatively scheduled for sometime during the week of March 10th. There will be no make-ups for this. Graduating Seniors (only!) will take their final exam on Thursday, May 8th, 7-10pm.

Grades: Class grades will be computed as follows:
20% mid-term exam
25% final exam
45% Homework assignments
10% Class Participation
