COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Everyone will be expected to complete the following REQUIREMENTS,
upon which
you will be evaluated:
- Participation: 10%
- A take-home midterm examination: 25%.
- Four unannounced, in-class reading quizzes (click here for
more information about these quizzes): 25%.
- There will be 4 "film nights" during the semester. Written
responses will be required for 2 of the 4 films screened during film
nights: 10%.
- A final examination OR
a final 8-9 page critical book review of a book selected from a list
we will hand out later in the semester (Graduating seniors must write a
book review; all other students may
choose to write either a book review or to take the final examination):
30%.
