  • To foster an understanding of the role (and importance) of infancy in human development.
  • To develop an appreciation for the theoretical and practical motivations underlying infancy research.
  • To nurture an awareness of the value of studying infants and development in the broader effort to understand psychology.
  • To develop an improved ability to imagine the next logical steps in a research program, and how they might be implemented.
  • To enhance verbal presentation skills and analytical/dialectical skills.
  • To gain exposure to the major research questions currently being explored by infancy scientists.
