REQUIREMENTS

Everyone will be expected to complete the following REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reading assignments: If everyone does all of the reading in advance, our discussions will occur at a significantly higher level, and so will be much more interesting.
  • (20%): Class attendance and participation (see bullet above). Don't underestimate how important this could turn out to be.
  • (20%): Four (4) labs on programming connectionist networks. The content of each of the 4 printouts/write-ups you hand in will be worth 5% of your grade.
  • (20%): One in-class midterm examination.
  • (20%): One paper on a topic related to the material covered in this course. More information will be available on this assignment in a couple of weeks, but do be aware that I would like everyone to have gotten their topic OK'd by me before you leave for spring break.
    • Please note: I will consider any collection of 4 or more consecutive, unquoted words taken from another source to be plagiarism. Any paper containing any plagiarized content will receive an automatic grade of F.
  • (20%): A final examination, SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, MAY 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM.
