Harry S. Truman Scholarship

Beinecke Memorial Scholarships:
Scholarships for juniors of strong potential who are interested in attending graduate school in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Selection criteria include qualities of intellect, character, creativity, leadership, evidence of well-formulated plans for the future, and demonstrated financial need. Beinecke Scholars receive $2000 upon completion of their undergraduate studies, and $15,000 for each of two years in graduate school. 18 Scholarships are awarded annually.

Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program
The Mellon Minority Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF as of July 2003 renamed the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship) program is the centerpiece of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation's initiatives to increase diversity in the faculty ranks of institutions of higher learning. The MMUF program is administered by over a hundred campus coordinators at 34 institutions and a consortium of 38 historically black colleges and universities within the membership of the United Negro College Fund.

Amnesty International Patrick Stewart Human Rights Scholarships
The Reebok Human Rights Summer Fellowship offers students a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of human rights. AIUSA is recruiting fellows to spend summer 2008 working with organizations connected to Reebok Human Rights award winners or AIUSA. Postings are in the United States and abroad. Fellows receive funding of up to a maximum of $2,500 to use towards air travel and other expenses. Projects typically last from 4 – 6 weeks.

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS: (SOPH and JUN)

Goldwater Scholarships
For outstanding sophomores or juniors who have a career interest in mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering. Up to 300 scholarships, distributed among the 50 states, are awarded for undergraduate college expenses up to $7500 annually. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated background in scientific research. US Citizenship required. Institutional nomiation.

Morris K. Udall Foundation Scholarships
Approximately 75 scholarships are awarded each year. Each scholar receives up to $5,000, and attends a Summer Scholar Orientation Weekend in Arizona. Applicants must fall into one of two groups:
1. College sophomores or juniors who demonstrate outstanding potential, and who study the environment and related fields.
2. Native American and Alaskan Native students who are college sophomores or juniors, demonstrate outstanding potential, and are in fields related to health care or tribal public policy.
Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA and a proven record of campus and community service.

Clinton Scholarship Program in Dubai
The scholars program will give up to 10 American students per semester the opportunity to study and live in Dubai, immersing themselves in the culture and observing the economic and democratic development of a modern Arab state. This program advances the goals of the Clinton Foundation, as the students' experiences will strengthen the capacity of people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence and pursue racial, ethnic and religious reconciliation. President Clinton hopes and believes that participating students will return to the United States and not only encourage others to experience Dubai and other Arab States, but also share their understanding and knowledge of the Arab world with their communities. Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics

In 3,000 to 4,000 words, students are encouraged to raise questions, single out issues and identify dilemmas. The essay may take the form of an analysis that is biographical, historical, philosophical, sociological, or theological. First prize $5,000; Second prize $2,500; Third prize $1,500; Two Honorable Mentions $500 each.
