I am a Professor of Economics
and Asian
American Studies at Pitzer
College, one of the Claremont Colleges in sunny southern California. I am also a core
faculty member in the Intercollegiate Department of Asian American
Studies. I have a B.S. in Economics from M.I.T., and a
Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University. My research is in macro, labor, Japan, and Asian American
Studies, and I like to tell
economics jokes. Ever wonder why people make fun of
economists? I've spent some time at the Japan Development
Bank, the
World Bank, AT&T Bell Laboratories and the
National Bureau of Economic Research. I have also taught at
Wellesley College, Kwansei Gakuin University, Harvard
University, and Yale University. I might as well show you my
resume. I have been at Pitzer College since
1988.
