THELMA GUTSCHE

Michelle Christian is a third year undergraduate student at the University of KwaZulu Natal in Durban, South Africa. She is studying towards her Bachelor of Social Sciences degree and is enrolled in the Culture, Communication and Media Studies program. Michelle is currently an exchange student at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. At the end of her semester at Pitzer she will return to Durban to complete her honors year in 2006.

I am Ted Carmichael, an English and World Literature major at Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges Consortium in Claremont, CA . I spent the Fall Semester of 2004 attending the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban, South Africa on a Mellon Scholarship. I am currently writing a thesis on J.M. Coetzee and Nadine Gordimer's writings. I will graduate in the Spring of 2006, and my life afterwords is a mystery!

A BRIEF HISTORY OF MOHANDAS GHANDI AND HIS CONNECTION TO THE NEW AFRICAN MOVEMENT by Ryan Altick

Ryan Altick is a Senior at Pitzer College in Claremont California. He is completing his bachelor's degree in the field of Organizational Studies with an Economics minor. In the summer of 2005 he was a recipient of the Freeman scholarship from Pitzer which allowed him to travel the greater Tokyo and Osaka areas, on an intensive economic study tour. He is also the Captain of the Claremont Colleges Rugby Football Club.

My name is Thandeka Mtshali I am 22 years old I am an exchange student at Pitzer College from South Africa at the University of KwaZulu Natal . I major in Media and English Studies. After University I hope to make videos/Documentaries on Southern African culture and people. Hopefully in my life time I will be able to do a documentary on Credo Mutwa and meet him in person and get to understand him and hears from him on why he stands in the position of tradition because I feel he makes a lot of sense in what he says.

Genevieve Cheng is a junior at Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Consortium.   She is from Walnut, California.  Currently, Genevieve is pursuing an English and World Literature major and intends to graduate in the spring of 2007.  After graduation, she hopes to attend law school or apply for the JET Program to teach English in Japan.
